Is Nutella healthy?

Well…it has a lot of sugar and a high-fat content but if you’re looking at it in terms of fueling your body with an actual “nut” rather than loads of other chemicals or ingredients, it would make sense that it’s the better choice. You can check out the nutrition facts from Nutella here!

What is Nutella?

Nutella is actually a hazelnut spread that has a few ingredients added into it to give it a chocolate and sweetened flavor. The good thing about Nutella is that it’s made with minimal ingredients compared to a lot of other unhealthy snacks on the market. Desserts with a Nutella filling are becoming more common every day.

How To Make Nutella Peanut Butter Cupcakes

Start by preheating the oven to 350 degrees. Make certain to line your cupcake pan with cupcake liners so they don’t stick.

Take and mix together the peanut butter, butter, sugar, and brown sugar. Add to a large bowl and mix on medium. It needs to be well-blended and fluffy in texture.

One by one, add in the eggs and beat on low until it’s well mixed.

Grab a different bowl and mix together the dry ingredients; the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

Once you have that mixed really well, go ahead and add the milk, vanilla, and cocoa powder to the peanut butter mixture. Be certain to add in half the flour mixture, and stir with a spatula.

Next, go ahead and add the rest of the flour mixture and blend that on low. Be careful not to overmix.

After the mixture is mixed well, take and fill the cupcake liners 3/4 of the way full and put them in the oven to bake for 15-18 minutes. They need to cool completely on a wire rack before starting to frost or decorate.

To make the frosting, beat together the Nutella, cream cheese, and butter until mixed well.

Mix the powdered sugar, cocoa powder, milk, and vanilla. Beat until it’s blended well, and add milk or powdered sugar as needed until you have a thick creamy frosting.

Once it’s to your liking, start piping the frosting onto the cooled cupcakes using a piping bag. Once done, top with Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups that are cut in half.

You can also chop up a few of the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups into small pieces and sprinkle them on the cupcakes.

How do you store these Nutella Cupcakes once they are baked?

The key to keeping these Reese’s Cupcakes with Nutella as fresh as possible is to store them in an airtight container for later. They’ll have a nice, fresh taste without getting dried out too quickly.

You can also freeze these cupcakes for later as well but do this before you start to decorate them. Then, when you’re ready to eat them, just unthaw and enjoy!
